Tonight I learned two things. First, water in the sprayer freezes when the temperatures drop (duh!). Second, my dog is using the spray. This track was short because I realized the sprayer wasn't improving. I expected her to do okay with this treat spacing, but instead she was frantic and obviously lost - lunging, skipping treats, and still frantically looking for the track after it ended.
I didn't expect the spray to be that significant to her - after all the last few times we've been out have all been after dark, and several times have been on wet pavement.
